The Use of Agent-based Models in Military Concept Development

Modeling and simulation of military operational concepts has historically been exceedingly difficult and costly. This is in part due to the inherent complexity of military operations. This paper discusses a method of analysis, AgentBased Modeling, which brings an appropriate level of complexity to the task of evaluating military operational concepts. Techniques for military concept development are addressed and a potential case study is presented.
